Weekly Update 4/1/11

A Note about our Descriptions

The subject of First Editions came up a couple of this time this week. When we list first editions, do we mean first printings? Yes we do. We will always specify if the book is a later printing.

All new books have dust jackets unless we specify otherwise. When we describe rare books we will always note if a book has a dust jacket.

We welcome any questions you may have.

SIGNED COPIES NOW AVAILABLE

The U.S. edition of Started Early, Took My Dog by Kate Atkinson is here. The fourth in the quirky series featuring Jackson Brodie includes neglected dogs and unwanted children as part of the story while reluctant sleuth Brodie tracks down the missing details of a woman’s life. The beauty of this series lies in the many wonderful characters who inhabit Atkinson’s writing. $24.99

Chelsea Cain was here signing The Night Season, the fourth in her series featuring Detective Archie Sheridan and serial killer Gretchen Lowell. Lowell makes only a cameo appearance here (because she’s behind bars - for now), but Archie still bears the emotional and physical scars from his encounters with her. When the Willamette River floods, bodies are found and Archie, together with reporter Susan Ward, investigates what looks like the work of a serial killer. A Hard Boiled Club Main Selection. $24.99

We have just five signed first editions of Devil Red, the latest Hap & Leonard novel from Joe R. Lansdale. Unfortunately, the dust jackets are not in great shape, but we’ll put a brodart on and they will still make a wonderful addition to your library. Sorry we couldn’t get more. First come, first served. $24.00

The Saturday Big Tent Wedding Party by Alexander McCall Smith is the latest installment in the best-selling No 1 Ladies Detective Agency series featuring Precious Ramotswe. A Soft Boiled Club Main Selection. $24.94
