Weekly Update 7/17/09

SIGNED BOOKS NOW AVAILABLE

Who would have thought that when Janet Evanovich wrote One For the Money she would still be going strong at Finger Lickin’ Fifteen! And be more popular than ever! Can Stephanie Plum hunt down two killers, a traitor, and five skips, keep her grandmother out of the sauce, and solve Ranger’s problems? Put money on it. A Crime Club Selection. $27.95

Its been fourteen years since George Dawes Green’s last book, The Juror. Now comes The Ravens, a page-turner about an ordinary family, the Boatwrights, who win $318 million in the Georgia State Lottery. Its going to be the worst day of their lives! A Thriller Club Selection. $24.99

Guardian of Lies is the latest from Steve Martini. Defense Attorney Paul Madriani gets caught in a web of deceit and murder involving Cold War Secrets, a rare coin dealer who once worked for the CIA, and an assassin. $26.99

THIS AND THAT

We already carry large format Doc Savage and The Shadow magazines. Now we’ve added The Whisperer by Clifford Goodrich. The first issue contains The Dead Who Talked and The Red Hatchets. There’s a bonus story by Maxwell Grant, Norgil-Magician. $12.95

Just in: Sherlock Holmes: The Complete and Unabridged Novels in one large, very attractive volume with illustrated wraps. The typeface is very readable - a plus for me. $24.95

A NOTE ABOUT UPCOMING SIGNED BOOKS

We’re very excited about some of our upcoming signings. We’d like your input so that we can more accurately order quantities. Most of the authors will be either Crime Club or Unclassifiable Club selections. But even if you are in those clubs, please let us know of your interest:

James Ellroy - Blood’s A Rover; Pete Dexter - Spooner; E.L. Doctorow - Homer & Langley; Nick Cave - The Death of Bunny Munro; Michael Connelly - Nine Dragons; Robert B. Parker - The Professional; Jonathan Lethem - Chronic City; Paul Auster - Invisible.
