SIGNED BOOKS NOW AVAILABLE

Murder in the Latin Quarter is Cara Black’s latest Aimee Leduc investigation. This one is set on the Left Bank of the Seine, the medieval university district of Paris. $24.00

Lawrence Block signed copies of Step By Step: A Pedestrian Memoir. Block chronicles his love for walking. As always, Block is erudite and always amusing. He’s also inspiring. $24.99

The Sweetness at the Bottom of the Pie is Alan Bradley’s first novel and it is making quite a reputation for itself on both sides of the Atlantic. It introduces Flavia de Luce who is an aspiring chemist with a passion for poison. It is the summer of 1950 and Flavia, who is only eleven-years-old, must solve her first case when a man is found dead on the grounds of her home. The U.K. version precedes this U.S. Edition. $23.00

The Scarecrow by Michael Connelly brings back Jack McEvoy (of The Poet). This time out, Jack is onto a killer who has worked completely below police and FBI radar. A must of course. This is not going to be a club selection because the Limited Edition and, inexplicably, the U.K. edition precedes it, so if you haven’t ordered this already... $27.99

Hit List: The Best of Latino Mystery is edited by Sarah Cortez and Liz Martinez. These original stories are signed by the editors and several of the contributors who were here last week for an event. Paperback Original. $19.95.

Blood Moon is Gary Disher’s fifth book in the series featuring Inspector Hal Challis and Sergeant Ellen Destry. A police procedural set in Australia. $24.00

We have signed copies of the U.S. Edition of Smoke & Mirrors by Mick Herron. Set in the shipyards of Newcastle, Sarah Tucker must investigate the death of private detective Zoe Boehm. $25.00

Local author Bonnie Kozek was here to sign her hard-boiled thriller Threshold. A paperback original. $11.95

China Mieville signed the U.S. edition of his remarkable novel, The City and The City. The body of a murdered woman is found in the decaying city of Beszel, somewhere in Europe. $26.00

The Way Home by George Pelecanos is now signed!! A Hard Boiled Club Selection. $24.99

FOR COLLECTORS

The Case of the Crumpled Knave by Anthony Boucher, Simon & Schuster, NY. 1939. First Edition. $65.00

Library stamps on front endpaper, else fine and bright with no other marks; dust jacket is rubbed along all edges, with tears and creases. A very scarce book in jacket.

The Murder at the Vicarage by Agatha Christie, Dodd Mead, NY. 1929. First U.S. Edition. $2,500.00

The first Miss Marple mystery. Apart from a bit of darkening of the spine, a very fine, fresh, tight copy in an unbelievable dust jacket - as crisp and bright as the day it was issued. Early Christies in this condition are rare.

The White Priory Murders by Carter Dickson, Grosset & Dunlap, NY. 1934. $45.00

Near fine in excellent dust jacket with minor wear at spine ends.

She Died a Lady by Carter Dickson, Morrow, NY. 1943. First Edition. $185.00

A Sir Henry Merrivale mystery. Bookplate, spine lightly sunned, else near fine in dust jacket with tape remains near lower spine area, causing partial lifting of the logo on spine, light wear at top of spine. In Adey.

A Time to Die by Hilda Lawrence, Simon & Schuster. 1945. First Edition. $25.00

A neglected author. Small stain on spine, else fine in very good dust jacket.

Crumpled Knave is indeed rare. It took me years to find a copy. I'm still looking for Boucher's Nine Times Nine in dj.
